I had a quick appointment this morning to check my cervix and the babies. Let's start with the not so good news. My cervix went back to .6 (it was 1.3 last week). The good news is that the doctor is still labeling me as stable. These things happen; it could flux back and forth like this each week for the next 10 weeks, so I better just get used to the roller coaster.
You know, I've always disliked rollercoasters. As a kid, I dreaded them. We had season passes to Six Flags, and I would be so nervous every time it was that point in the day to wait in line for a rollercoaster. Most of the time, the only reason I would even go through with it was because my cousin Kristi would call me a chicken; other times I would just walk across the ride and back down the stairs and wait for everyone. Well, I obviously can't just bypass this one. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to even have a ticket on this ride, but I still prefer the straight-a-ways. I know the ride of parenthood that I'll be on in a few months will be even crazier with a lot more ups and downs, but at least I have more help on that one...and wine!
The best news is that the babies look great.!To quote Dr. R, "your kids are awesome." It was just a quick look today; weights and measurements are every two weeks. Other positives include normal blood pressure, no dilation, and no contractions.
All in all, everything is good. It's hard for me not to obsess over the numbers as it's just my nature, but all of us are as healthy as can be right now and bed rest is the only thing to keep us that way.
Random observation: I usually get a little fruit cup with my lunch as dessert (I usually save them and stock up the fridge) and I just noticed that the pears are packaged in Thailand and the tropical fruit is packaged in the Philippines. This seems inefficient to me.

Great news about the babies! Thanks for the updates...I've been checking for them every night. Keep up the good work mommma!
ReplyDeleteSince you've been on bed rest, the Dallas Cowboys are undefeated. They upset the perfect Saints and came from behind to win the division.
ReplyDeleteTo err on the side of superstitious-caution, no matter if the doctor approves your release, DON'T LEAVE THE HOSPITAL until after February 7th.
Thanks,
