Mothering twins

Sorry the posts are few and far between. I am really busy but I also don't have a ton of updates. People often ask me what it's like taking care of twins. My response is that I don't know any different. The only big difference that I can imagine is the guilt I feel when I am holding one and not the other. I am always sort of keeping tabs in my head of the time I spend with each one individually. I even alternate who rides in the "front seat" of the snap 'n go stroller when we go for our walks; this will not be an issue once we transition to a side by side stroller but for now I worry about it. I can only imagine that this attention issue will weigh more heavily on my mind once they are more aware of things.

They are still eating on average every three hours; we've had a few wonderful four hour stretches but Brandon and I are both ready for those longer sleep stretches during the night. I know Brooks and Charlotte will do this when they are ready and that is really doesn't have much to do with our nighttime parenting. I have to keep reminding myself of this when I hear other parents saying that one method or another had their baby(ies) sleeping thru the night at 8 weeks. We are keeping a schedule and doing the best we can. In fact "doing the best we can" has become my new catchphrase. It's typically our motto at work when we have more projects than we can handle, but it has now taken on a completely different meaning!
Anyway, enough rambling. The babies are great and we are so in love with them. I take Charlotte in for a hip sonogram tomorrow (required for breech females) and I go in for my six week post partum checkup Monday (crossing fingers and toes that I am cleared to fully work out).
My sweet Aunt Brenda was in town from Singapore and got to spend a little time with her great neice and nephew; she made them tennis shoes, boots and booties. Here's a picture of Charlotte's tennis shoes. I'll try to take more pictures over the weekend and post them soon!
