Mother's Day

So this post is a few days late, but I had to acknowledge my first mother's day and all the moms I know, especially my own. I had a great first Mother's day. Brandon woke up for the super early feeding and then I took over while he cooked me a wonderful breakfast. Then we just hung out and watched my cousin Amy play softball (UT) on TV before we went to Beck and Fred's for burgers. It was a nice low key day, one in which the babies slept well...our first (any only) five hour stretch during the night. They had spent Saturday with my mom (Nana) so I guess her singing, story telling and snuggling did the trick.
On that note, I have to say that I am truly blessed with the most wonderful mother in the world. She is caring, loving, kind, fun, and extremely supportive. She is always all these things and so much more even when I don't necessarily deserve it (yes, I can be quite the brat sometimes...I know, it's shocking :)). I am also blessed to have a great mother-in-law (which a lot of women can't say) who is very helpful and also very supportive. Brooks and Charlotte are very lucky to have such amazing grandmothers!! Thank you both for all of your love and support. I can honestly say that I would not have made it through these last two months (probably more) without you.

Brooks and Charlotte are really great babies. We have our trying days where they take turns singing to me (read: screaming for no apparent reason), but looking at their sweet faces when they are calm and sleeping continue to melt my heart!
Happy Mother's day to all the moms out there and a special prayer to all those women still on their journeys to becoming moms. It's the toughest most rewarding job in the world!!!
Here is a picture of Charlotte rolling her eyes. If she is anything like me, I will witness this face many many more times!
And here is a very sweet picture of Brooks sleeping in my arms. I have this on my phone and look at often when I am frustrated and sleep deprived!
