One month stats

The babies are one month old already!!! My original due date (before we knew it was twins) is tomorrow. We went in today for the one month check up. Brooks is officially on the newborn growth charts; he's in the 8th percentile for weight. He weighs 7lbs 9oz and is 18 3/4 in long. Charlotte weighs 6lbs 10oz and is 18 1/2in long. She has some reflux and is starting on prevacid. We hope it helps!! Overall, the doctor said that they look great and as is very pleased with their growth. We no longer have to wake them every three hours to eat but it doesn't really matter because one or the other always wake at the three hour mark like clockwork. We don't want to get them on separate schedules, so when one wakes we go ahead and wake the other. Hopefully they will start sleeping longer stretches soon. Luckily, the babies have the occasional sleepover with either Nana (my mom) or Mimi and Pops (Beck and Fred) so Brandon and I can get a feel night of sleep. I miss them terribly on those nights, but that one night of full sleep does wonders for us!

Here a few pictures to mark their one month birthday. I tried to one with their stuffed animal from Laurie so we can compare each month, one showing their lengths (Brooks wouldn't stay stretched for long so his knees are bent a little in his photo) and another to show their sweet faces. The first three photos are Charlotte followed by Brooks.

Brooks's ear cuffs have been replaced once and are just now starting to loosen a little. We'll wait until they are practically falling off before we take him back. I can see his ears through the plastic and they look great. We're hoping that they won't have to be replaced again...maybe just a little retainer instead of the big plastic piece.
In mommy news, I had a wonderful evening out last weekend with some girlfriends to celebrate Laran's birthday; it was so nice to be out at a restaurant eating dinner and drinking wine with the girls. At that particular dinner I was wearing a pair of my pre-pregnancy jeans. WOOOHOOOO!!!! I am in a couple pair of jeans and a few pairs of shorts. I just can't wait to work out again. I still have a couple of weeks before I'm cleared to do anything besides walk. It's tough because I feel great; I am trying to relate it to when you have to take antibiotics for some sort of infection. Just because you feel fine after a few days of taking the medication, you still have to finish the entire bottle. Just because I feel ok now doesn't mean I'm completely healed; I know that too much too fast will set me back but it's hard to remember that every day...especially with this amazing weather!
Random observation: There are some really beautiful homes and trees in our neighborhood. I've always loved our neighborhood but lately on our walks I've really been paying extra attention to things and I appreciate it even more. Now we just need to fix the school system!
