I had a sonogram this morning to check my cervix; although the doctor called it "piddly," it's holding steady at .7. I am very happy that it didn't shorten at all, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed that there was no improvement. Before each big run, I always set three goals: #1 is perfect conditions - perfect weather, adequately hydrated and fueled, etc.; #2 - my personal best goal - do just a little better than I know I can do like shave time off each mile or finish my second half faster than my first; #3 is always to finish. I realized that I need to adjust my usual goal setting method. Carrying two babies and helping them grow is so much harder than training for and running a race (plus, so much more is out of my control); I need to focus on goal #3 - to finish. My cervix stayed the same and I've had no contractions, so I have met my goal for the week.
The babies both look great! We will get a weight check next week; they do them every 14 days. Baby A was sucking her thumb and baby B was being a little shy (or stubborn?). I think he was just upset that I hadn't had breakfast yet. Getting to see them each week is definitely the highlight! According to my weekly babycenter update, the babies are the size of the mangoes.
I also got some new digs. I moved into a much bigger room with a better tv and microwave. Brandon even has a recliner to sit in while we watch movies. The couch isn't under the draft either, so hopefully all of visitors will be a little more comfortable.
Random observation: The "guide" button and "back" button on a regular remote are greatly underappreciated! I also forgot how much I use the pause feature. Dr. Richards came in to chat during General Hospital yesterday, so I just had to mute the tv. Luckily my mom and granny can update me on anything I missed!
