Fall festivities

Well, it's now been 2 1/2 months since the last post and so much has happened. We have been having so much fun and Brooks and Charlotte are just growing and changing like crazy (too fast for mom!). It's too overwhelming at this point to write in detail about everything so I'm going to do a run down of our fun fall festivities through pictures and then resume regular updates.

Brooks and Charlotte are now completely sitting unassisted and eating solid foods. They had their first restaurant high chair experience and did great!

This isn't the greatest picture of Brooks and Charlotte's cute faces, but their Halloween pjs from Aunt Meredith are too cute not to post; plus, notice how their feet are crossed the same.

Brandon and I ventured out to the Dallas Arboretum (with the rest of the metroplex) to capture a few cute pictures. It was a gorgeous day!

We went to Chloe Newby's first birthday party in Halloween costume. Brooks was a football player and Charlotte was a cheerleader. They had so much fun seeing all of their friends and participating in the fun at Little Gym!

We have also had a few great weekends at the lake house! It's a beautiful place for us to enjoy some family time and not worry about the piles of laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, etc. that can get in the way when at home.

The four of us braved the wind and went to the Turket Trot Thanksgiving morning. This has been a long tradition for Brandon and I (my ninth consecutive year) and it was so special for us to be able to do it as a family of four for Brooks and Charlotte's first Thanksgiving. We plan to keep the tradition for many years!

Thanksgiving day and evening was full of good friends, family, yummy food, and an Aggie win over the Longhorns! It was a full day and we got through it with zero meltdowns...yay!! We have so much to be thankful for!!
We had some professional pictures done; if you are interested you check out a couple of the pictures on our photographer's blog. Her website is www.clairesmith.com and you can access the blog from there. She was wonderful and we got some really great pictures!

Brooks and Charlotte started day care last week and seemed to really enjoy it. It's been an adjustment to our morning routine but all in all, the week went much smoother than anticipated. I really think they are going to enjoy the place so much and make lots of friends!
The baptism was also in November, but that will be a separate post because the occasion deserves more than just a sentence or two.
I hope this post finds you all well and that you are enjoying this fall weather and getting into the holiday spirit...still can't believe it's already December!
